Fake 66°North Products Found on Temu

Fake products carrying the 66°North logo have been spotted for sale on the Chinese e-commerce platform Temu, RÚV reports. Items including sweaters and shorts, advertised for less than 2,000 ISK, appear at first glance to be from the Icelandic outdoor clothing company but are in fact counterfeits.

“This is unfortunately the reality in this business today,” Fannar Páll Aðalsteinsson, marketing director of 66°North, told RÚV. “Just like any ordinary consumer, we came across these items on Temu. We immediately put the matter into process; to look into it and stop this from happening.”

The company has passed the case to its intellectual property lawyer, who will contact Temu to demand the removal of the falsely branded products.

“It is, of course, serious when customers are being misled and intellectual property is misused. This seems to be increasing, and we must ensure there is no complacency or unnecessary tolerance toward those who commit fraud with intellectual property and design,” Fannar said.
