The expedition cruise vessel Ocean Albatros arrived in Húsavík this morning on its first visit of the 2025 season, carrying 186 passengers and 102 crew. She is the 64th cruise call to the Ports of Norðurþing this year.
The sleek vessel joined the fleet of Albatros Expeditions in June 2023 and is deployed to a wide range of destinations, from Antarctica to the Arctic and many regions in between. With 94 staterooms and suites – all with sea views and most with private balconies – the ship has quickly become one of the world’s most popular expedition cruise vessels.
Like its sister ship Ocean Victory, the Ocean Albatros features two restaurants, an Albatros Nordic Bar, a wellness area, an outdoor dining deck, and a modern lecture lounge. The ship also includes unique touches such as a panorama sauna and additional dedicated cabins for solo travelers.
The Ocean Albatros is also notable for its environmental credentials. Built with more than a 50% lower carbon footprint compared to traditional expedition vessels, it is one of the most sustainable ships of its class, operating under the Green Initiative Program to combine comfort with responsibility toward the environment.
