The documentary Whale Wash will be screened tomorrow, September 8, at the Húsavík Whale Museum at 16:30.
The film, produced by the Endangered Species Protection Agency (ESPA), follows investigative journalists as they examine Norway’s whaling industry. It includes interviews with experts and whalers, raising questions about the ethics, environmental impact, and public health issues surrounding the continued hunting of minke whales.
Whale Wash also highlights the important ecological role of whales in marine ecosystems and climate regulation. Running about 52 minutes, the film has already been released on international platforms such as Ecoflix and Waterbear, but tomorrow’s screening offers a local opportunity to see it on the big screen.
