The seven millionth passengers to travel through Keflavík Airport this year, Chris and Joanne Bradley, were greeted with gifts at the airport today. They were arriving to Iceland with with EasyJet from Belfast.
The number of passengers at Keflavík is divided into arrivals, departures, and stopovers, each of which count as one passenger. Last year’s total number surpassed 6.8 million, while this year is expected to surpass 8.7 million, for an increase of 28 percent. If the predictions are indeed fulfilled, the number of passengers in 2017 will be more than four times the number in 2010.
