Tónasmiðjan hosts benefit concert in support of Píeta

A special benefit concert, Rock Against Suicide, will take place at Húsavík Church on Wednesday, September 10, at 20:00. The event is organized by music group Tónasmiðjan to support Píeta, an organization dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health support in Iceland. The evening will feature performances by Ívar Helga, Axel Flóvent, Erla Ragnars, Tónasmiðjan and guest artists. Tickets are priced at 3,900 ISK, with proceeds going directly to Píeta’s work.

Píeta is a nationwide organization that offers free, around-the-clock counseling and crisis support for people experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-harming behavior, as well as for their families. The association emphasizes early intervention and confidentiality, helping people at their most vulnerable moments.

Organizers hope to combine music, community, and a message of solidarity. With music as the driving force, the concert aims to bring the community together in both remembrance and hope.
