Eurovision’s Remember Monday release new Húsavík Music Video

The UK’s Eurovision 2025 entry Remember Monday has released a special tribute to the town of Húsavík, performing the Oscar-nominated ballad “Húsavík my Hometown.” The video was filmed during the trio’s promotional tour stop in Iceland earlier in the month.

The girl group spent three days in the north of Iceland and recorded their rendition on April 11, choosing some of the town’s most iconic locations: the harbour, the Eurovision Exhibition, and the brightly painted “Elf Houses.” They were also joined by a choir of Icelandic schoolgirls, the same group who sang during the 2021 Academy Awards broadcast. For this performance, Remember Monday included verses in Icelandic.

“Húsavík” became a global hit after featuring in the 2020 Netflix comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, where it was performed by Rachel McAdams’ character Sigrit. The song went on to earn an Academy Award nomination and has since become an unofficial anthem for the town.

Speaking about their visit, Remember Monday said: “We’ve never seen anywhere as beautiful with our own eyes! It was the most emotional we’ve ever been from the second we took off to the moment we left. We were crying because it was just the most incredible experience. We were so lucky to meet the local people and the girls from the choir — they were so lovely and welcoming. It was really special.”

The video was produced by Orly Orlyson and directed by Rafnar Orri Gunnarsson. With sweeping views of the harbour and heartfelt vocals set against Iceland’s dramatic landscape, the release further cements Húsavík’s unique place in Eurovision history.
