Iceland’s Eurovision Entry named one of the best songs of 2020 by Time Magazine

Daði Freyr will compete for Iceland in Eurovision 2021

At once funky and futuristic, “Think About Things” is the ultimate earworm, Time magazine writes about the song that was to win Eurovision for Iceland this year. As the readers of Húsavík Observer know, the contest was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Time Magazine published its list of the 10 best songs of 2020 this week, with Daði Freyr’s song Think About Things number six. The review goes on to call it a warm, loving slice of electropop, with a slinky synth line, catchy chorus and groovy bass.

It has now been confirmed that Daði Freyr and his band Gagnamagnið will represent Iceland with a new song in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam. The people of Húsavík will welcome Eurovision fans from around the world that week for a giant Eurovision party, following the success of the Netflix Eurovision movie earlier this year.
